Biddestone A approached there last regular season fixture lying in the top half of the league, a win guaranteeing a top half finish, but a loss depending on other results would still leave us in the top half, with Regular skipper Jamie away H had to take charge, New boy Ashley was welcomed to the team as our regular keeper Tom was also away, with the toss won we fielded and got off to a good start, an early run out and some interesting running meant that Chippenham struggled for runs, H and Rhys having some fairly simple knocking off of the bails, with the Number 6 in early a score of around 50 was all Chippenham looked likely to get, however the Chippenham number 3 had other ideas, despite losing his last partner with a couple of over’s to go he batted through for an excellent 53 not out, Marshy and Rhys the pick of the bowling, a round score of 100 definitely 40 more than they should have got.
H and Rhys opened and struggled from the off against what many feel is one of the best if not the best indoor league bowlers in Lee Ward, some poor shot selection and panic running saw us get a long way behind the rate, With H and Marshy actually contributing over half our final score of 61 for 4 it shows how poorly we batted and also missed Jamie, H carrying his bat for 25 and Marshy 10 no, with Winsley B losing in the game before and Box looking to have scored an awful lot of runs v MYDP we will finish 4th and so go into the top half playoffs were Box, Bradford and Winsley A await, it will be a tough end of season.
