On form duo Liverpool and Tottenham found it hard to live up to that thriller as they followed up with a 0-0 bore draw but on the Saturday both Arsenal and Manchester City registered thumping wins, beating Blackburn 7-1 and Fulham 3-0 respectively.
SunSport soothsayer Jim Munro found the going tough, predicting FOUR correct scores with just ONE spot-on.
That left our users battling for this week's title, with an impressive six in total managing to predict SEVEN correct scores. However, edging out the rest of the competition was mikeymo, who got THREE of his predictions bang on the money.
Congratulations!

Man United v Liverpool. JM says 2-0
We saw the best and the worst of Man United in last weekend's 3-3 thriller at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea raced into a 3-0 lead before Wayne Rooney's double penalty contribution helped inspire United's revival. But it was still two points dropped in the title race. United can regain top spot for at least 24 hours with a win in what is Alex Ferguson's 52nd league match against Liverpool (W 23, D 13, L 15). During that time Liverpool have won five of the 25 games played at Old Trafford between the two. Dirk Kuyt has scored four goals in his last three games against United.
Blackburn v QPR. JM says 1-2
Rovers looked shambolic during the 7-1 defeat at Arsenal. It was easy to see why they have conceded at least one goal in all 24 games so far, a record for a Premier League club from the start of a season. They do have attacking talisman Yakubu back from suspension and boy do they need him. QPR have a habit of fading in matches. They've dropped 15 points from winning positions this season and if matches were decided on second half performances alone, they would have only won twice. New striker Bobby Zamora does count Blackburn as one of his favourite clubs, having scored four career goals against them.
Bolton v Wigan. JM says 1-0
We enter 'must win' territory for these relegation rivals at the Reebok. Bottom of the table Wigan have most to lose as they sit five points from safety. Bolton have won only eight points at home this season, but are unbeaten in the last three in front of their own fans. It's looking much grimmer for Wigan who haven't won any of their last nine league games and have managed just three victories all season.
Everton v Chelsea. JM says 2-2
Having beaten league leaders Man City 1-0 at Goodison Park recently, Everton will feel they can match anybody on their day and they are one of the few teams who don't mind squaring up to today's visitors. The last seven league clashes between the two have seen just one Chelsea win – 3-1 at Stamford Bridge in October. AVB's Blues are also stumbling through a run of just two wins from the last nine league games and are still reeling from throwing away a 3-0 lead over Man United last weekend
Fulham v Stoke. JM says 2-0
The last four games in all competitions between Fulham and Stoke have ended up with a 2-0 scoreline. Clint Dempsey is Fulham's man in form and he's bagged seven goals in league games at Craven Cottage this term. Stoke enjoyed a good first half of the season but have picked up just one win from the last eight league games, failing to score in five of those matches.
Sunderland v Arsenal. JM says 1-1
Sunderland had been in freefall for some time before Martin O'Neill stepped in as boss. Since then it's been more of a resurrection than a simple revival. In his nine games in charge, the Black Cats have amassed 22 points, more than any other club over the same period. Arsenal finally clicked into gear with the 7-1 annihilation of Blackburn last weekend. But defensively they are still vulnerable, conceding 25 goals away from the Emirates. No surprise that Robin van Persie is the player to watch. The Gunners' striker has bagged 20 goals in his last 21 away games in the league.
Swansea v Norwich. JM says 1-0
Only table toppers Man City have let in fewer goals at home (6) than the seven The Swans have conceded at the Liberty Stadium this term. If you see Scott Sinclair net for Swansea at any stage, put your in-play cash on a homer: Sinclair has scored in each of the club's five home wins in the league. The Canaries have a 100% record against their fellow promoted clubs so far this season but haven't yet kept a clean sheet away from home during 2011-12.
Tottenham v Newcastle. JM says 2-1
Both teams have performed way above expectation, playing entertaining, attacking football. So at first I was tempted to say it had 0-0 written all over it. Spurs have lost just one of their last 29 played at White Hart Lane and have new boy Louis Saha looking to score for his fifth different Premier League club. Newcastle unleashed their all-Senegal front line for the first time last weekend, Demba Ba and Papiss Demba Cisse both scoring in the 2-1 win over Aston Villa. But the Toon won't want to be reminded of their last visit to the capital, a 5-2 drubbing at Fulham.
Wolves v West Brom. JM says 2-0
Midlands derbies are always tough to call. Although Wolves are five points behind the Baggies - and just above the relegation zone – they will have a skip in their step after last weekend's 2-1 win at QPR. One stat they would love to break here: Wolves haven't scored a single goal in the opening 15 minutes of any league game so far this season. West Brom are on a run of just one win from the last seven league games although 18 of their 26 points have been collected on their travels.
Aston Villa v Man City. JM says 1-3
If Man United plunder full points from Liverpool on Saturday, City will need to win this final fixture of the weekend to regain the lead at the top of the Premier League. Villa are hoping to avoid notching a seventh consecutive home game in the league without a win, something they haven't done since the 1985-86 season. Free scoring Man City – 63 goals in 24 games – have notched just one goal in their last four trips away from home and won just one of the last six. Time to blow off the cobwebs.
