FOLKESTONE has abandoned Tuesday's seven-race card. With the course failing to thaw in time, clerk of the course Neil Mackenzie Ross "had no option but to call the meeting off."
Mackenzie Ross called the meeting off earlier than planned, making the decision before the planned inspection time of 7.30am. "I am not happy with conditions," he said. "We've given the meeting every chance, but we will not thaw out in time.
"There are one or two patches of snow remaining but they are not a worry, there are areas of frozen ground that will not be gone by race time. Conditions have beencontinually improving, but just not quickly enough, which has been incredibly frustrating."
With Folkestone abandoned, Ayr will provide only the fourth jumps fixture in Britain since the start of February, while there will also be racing from Southwell on the all weather.
