As I’ve written on many occasions, what we do as educators would not be possible without the support of a great many volunteers working in our buildings, caring about students. A perfect example of someone who has given so much over the years is the woman students call “Grandma Zeeman.” She is the mother of Lapeer West Principal Tim Zeeman and a tremendous supporter of Mayfield Elementary, even after her own grandchildren passed through the school.
Check out the above video of Grandma Zeeman in action in Debbie Daley’s classroom.
Here’s what Daley said about Grandma Zeeman:
She should get “Volunteer of the Year” she has been helping for eleven years! She loves the kids and they love her!
It would be difficult to find someone who embodies the Lapeer Spirit more than Grandma Zeeman. Thank you for all you do!
