The successful candidates will design and prototype the thermal and mechanical aspects of a high quality and highly efficient state-of-the art solid state lighting system. Responsibilities:
• Conceptualize mechanical integration for optical, thermal, electronic solution of LED systems
• Creation of 3D model, 2D detail drawing and assign tolerance to both conventional and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T), Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM&A)and cost
• Generate BOM's, schematics, qualification reports, FMEA's

Specific Skills

Requirements:
• Proficiency in mechanical, thermal (FEA) design and material selection of complex die cast metal, injection molded plastic parts, metal extrusions, and layout of the mechanical requirements for printed circuit board (PCBs)
• Proven track record of leading new product introduction from concept to manufacturing
• SolidWorks, Cosmos, FlowWorks or equivalent, state-of-the-art thermal management solutions for high-power electronic components
• BS in Mechanical Engineering with 5 yrs of professional experience is required. Alternatively a MSME with 2 yrs of experience or PhD entry level.

Desired but not required:
• Industrial design experience a plus
• Experience in mass production manufacturing
